Schelertech is back
After a long pause, Schelertech is publishing again.
This blog started as a place for practical helpdesk notes. That focus still holds. Expect short posts on ticket hygiene, endpoint work, identity basics, and the small operating habits that keep support from turning into chaos.
What you can expect
- Guides you can use on a real queue the same day
- Examples from PowerShell, msiexec, Entra, and Endpoint Manager when they earn their place
- Less theory, more “here is the checklist”
A simple restart checklist for any helpdesk
If you are also dusting off process after a busy stretch, start here:
- Define intake. One place for requests. Email, chat, and hallway asks all need a ticket.
- Name the priority rules. Urgent should mean business impact, not whoever shouts first.
- Standardize the first five minutes. Verify identity, device, recent changes, and error text before deep diving.
- Write the fix down. If it took more than ten minutes once, it will happen again.
- Review repeats weekly. The same three issues usually create half the noise.
Why restart now
Support work gets better when people share the boring, useful stuff: the quiet install flags, the request fields that matter, the triage order that prevents thrash. Schelertech is that notebook made public.
More posts soon. If you are rebuilding a helpdesk practice too, start with tracking and triage. Everything else gets easier after that.
